Depending on harvesting period, it can be grouped into Spring-tea, Summer-tea, and Autumn-tea
or first-harvest, second-harvest or third-harvest. A bud that harvested before 20th of April usually classified as high-quality. The type can be sorted as tea-leaves and tea-powder. In ancient times, tea-leaves was made into lumps or chunks for the preservation purpose and broken down into powder form as needed. |

Per its fermentation method, tea-leaves can be divided into four categories:
* Non-fermented Tea (Korean Green Tea), * Semi-fermented Tea (Jasmine Tea), * Fermented Tea (Black Tea), * Post-Fermented Tea (Pu-Erh Tea). |
